Dr. Rashid Alshaali

Rashed Al Shaali is an architect/engineer with an interest in the holistic approach to urban development in general, and buildings in particular with focus on Energy Efficiency.
Rashed was seconded to the UAE Ministry of Energy to help establish a department for Energy Conservation and Efficiency in 2013-14, he prepared the first draft for the UAE Energy Conservation Law and was appointed as UAE OPEC Environmental Focal Point. He was a member of the United Arab Emirates negotiating task force for UNFCCC and the GCC “Energy Conservation Committee” and “Climate Change Negotiation task force”.
Al Shaali holds a PhD in Architecture Technology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a master’s in Building Science from University of Southern California (USC), and a Bachelor in Architectural Engineering from the UAE University.
